The beginning of a new year is always exciting. A clean slate. Time to start over, work on new dreams and be inspired again.

Below are some of my favourite January items in one of my favourite areas Holland Park, W11.

So ignore the chill, dust off your finery, polish your best shoes and live life like it’s a catwalk.

It’s the start of a new year. A new beginning. Everything will change.

Photos by Eamon McCabe

Bettie Page, often referred to as ‘Queen of Pinups,’ was a 1950’s icon and has influenced artists for generations. She started off as a ‘camera club’ model and soon gained popularity as Miss January 1955 for Playboy. She started modelling after moving to New York City and soon posed for infamous photographers Bunny Yeager and Irvine Klaw whilst she was widely known in magazines Wink and Beauty Parade. Here is my shoot by Eamon McCabe wearing her trademark black bangs with a dash of vintage glamour…

“The interesting thing about Bettie that I discovered was to leave mystery. She always retained a little mystery. Let there be some unknowns.”

“I was never the girl next door.”

“I never kept up with the fashions. I believed in wearing what I thought looked good on me.”
